London AI Startup leaves UK and Raises $24m

AI startup 11x.ai, known for automating end-to-end workflows, has raised $24 million in a Series A round led by Benchmark. The company, originally based in London, is relocating its headquarters to San Francisco. Founder and CEO Hasan Sukkar shared this strategic move, marking a milestone for the company.

This new funding comes a year after 11x.ai secured $2 million in seed funding from Project A Ventures. Founded in 2022, 11x.ai specializes in developing AI agents, which it calls “automated digital workers,” aimed at freeing human employees from repetitive tasks. The focus is on go-to-market teams, including sales, marketing, and revenue operations. Their first AI agent, Alice, handles sales tasks, while their newest release, Jordan, functions as an AI phone representative. “Jordan can hold intelligent, real-time conversations for up to 30 minutes, sounding just like a human,” Sukkar said.

Expanding AI Capabilities and Looking Ahead

With nearly $10 million in annual recurring revenue, 11x.ai already serves clients like Brex, DataStax, and Otter. Sukkar hinted at the upcoming launch of two more digital workers, part of a broader strategy to create a suite of AI agents. These agents, complete with names and faces, are designed for specific job categories. Currently, they support 25 languages, including Swedish, Italian, German, and Hebrew.

Although 11x.ai is bullish on the future of autonomous agents, Sukkar also acknowledges that the technology is still in its early stages. “AI agents automate tasks in ways that require no human involvement and operate at a high skill level,” he explained. Sukkar sees this innovation as transformative, comparing it to the impact of the internet and cloud technology.

The company not only faces competition from established players like UiPath, ServiceNow, and Salesforce, but also from emerging AI startup such as Docket, Regie.ai, AiSDR, and Artisan. Despite this, Benchmark’s Sarah Tavel, who led the Series A and now joins 11x.ai’s board, is optimistic. She cited the alignment of 11x.ai’s vision with her thesis on AI’s role in work software as a key reason for her confidence. Other investors in the round include 20VC, Lux Capital, and SV Angel.

With the fresh capital, 11x.ai plans to enhance product development and expand its 27-member team, most of whom will relocate to San Francisco. Though the company will keep an office in London, its primary focus is growth in the U.S. market. Reflecting on his journey, Sukkar shared, “I started 11x because I wanted to eliminate monotonous tasks and unlock human potential through automation.”
