Google’s AI Agent ‘Jarvis’ Accidentally Leaked: A Real Web-Browsing Assistant

Jarvis

Google recently leaked its upcoming AI agent, Jarvis, designed to browse the web in Chrome.

According to The Information, Google briefly posted an internal preview of this project, codenamed Jarvis, on the Chrome extension store. The prototype was quickly removed, but a few users managed to download it before it disappeared. However, they couldn’t use it as the program required specific access permissions.

The listing described Jarvis as “a helpful companion that surfs the web with you.” This aligns with reports from October indicating that Jarvis would assist with online shopping and could even book vacations on your behalf.

With reports from The Information that Google plans to officially unveil the AI Agent in December, this leak suggests the wait will be short.

Jarvis AI: Google’s New Agent to Automate Your Web Browsing and Shopping

Jarvis AI will likely enable users to automate web browsing tasks within Google Chrome, allowing them to focus on more important activities while the AI shops or even books flights.

Imagine how convenient this would be for holiday shopping—an AI handling the hassle of finding gifts. AI agents, designed to complete tasks independently, are becoming more common. Last month, Anthropic launched a similar product, and reports suggest OpenAI might be developing its own agent. However, how it might differ from Google’s Jarvis remains to be seen.

The pace of AI development is impressive, with companies releasing new tools almost daily. Just last week, ChatGPT Search became available for Plus subscribers, signaling a new era for AI search engines. With Jarvis AI, we might not even need to handle the searches ourselves.
